My pastor saw my notes the other night… “hmm those are some really interesting notes, Rob!”

I’m still new at the church so I’m still getting to know his personality, but I think he understands… Just because I draw in church, doesn’t mean I’m not listening. In fact, I’ve discovered that “doodling” engages my right side of the brain that I use more, rather than forcing attention away to struggle writing things down and still tracking along with the sermon. That’s like that old trick of rubbing your belly and patting your head. Some of us are made to do it, and some of us aren’t. It’s not wrong it’s just different.

And as a creative person I think reflecting Gods creativity on some small scale “draws” (pardon the pun) me into worship moreso than trying to scribble out notes so fast that I won’t be able to read them afterwards.

What do you guys think? Is it okay to draw in church?
